San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood is tucked into an isolated Southeast corner of the city. Most people don’t have a reason to go there. They only know what they see on the news — violence, drugs, and poverty. But, there is much more to Bayview — people, sights, and stories that people never see or hear about.

For eight weeks in the summer of 2013, I helped eight Bayview teenagers document their community through photography. This is their home, their friends, their families. This is their Bayview.
